An Invitation from Larry
Welcome to our Missions/Community Outreach web page! We’re glad you stopped by!
Missions represents the "heartbeat" of Porter Memorial Baptist Church. We take seriously
our role as a "Great Commission" church, and provide many opportunities for you
to be obedient and answer the call of Jesus on your life. Training for being "on
mission" is available to help prepare and equip you to be about "globally leading
people to faith in Christ".
Our basic Missions strategy is based on Acts 1:8 where Jesus said, "But you shall
receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses
to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Most of our work in North America and to the end of the earth involves strategic
mission partnership with the North American Mission Board and the International
Mission Board. We also have a number of opportunities for you to be involved in
and around Lexington, Nicholasville, and throughout Kentucky. Whether it is doing
construction and maintenance at Clear Creek Bible College, delivering clothing to
Oneida Baptist Institute, medical clinics and EFL in South America, planting churches
in the Middle East, Ukraine, or Canada; or participation in Servant Evangelism Blitz
and other local ministries, we have ways for you to invest your time, skills and
resources in the Kingdom work.
Check out the pages of this web site and/or call the Missions office for more information.
God has called all of us to be about carrying out the Great Commission (Matthew
28:19-20).
Will you answer the call?
